Heavily populated with farmlands north of Seattle, Skagit Valley is home to one of the largest flower bulb growers in the U.S. with 1,000+ acres of tulip, daffodil, and iris fields. As you drive through the valley, in the distance you will see hundreds of rows of tulips creating a striking multicolored linear brilliance against the plowed chocolate-colored dirt farmlands.

With the Musée National Picasso Paris closing for a 2-year restoration beginning in August 2010, the directors had the rare opportunity to loan out over 150 paintings, drawings, prints, photography and sculpture from Picasso's personal collection for art exhibits for a nine city international tour. Given the unique circumstances, this will most likely be the only time a loan of this size will take place outside of Paris. The exhibit has already successfully been displayed in Helsinki, Finland and in Moscow and St. Petersburg, Russia. The first of two west coast stops for the Picasso art exhibit will be in Seattle beginning October 8, 2010 through January 17, 2011 at the Seattle Art Museum.
